Hello all, my name is Sara. I've previously had three birds: two budgies and lovebird by the name of Tequila. It's been almost two years since I lost Tequila, and I miss having a bird around greatly.
Back when I still had Tequila, I'd been mulling over the idea of getting a Senegal. I've finally made up my mind to get one (I'm not one to make impulsive decisions lol). Now I just need to find a breeder.
I learned quite a bit from raising Tequila; she might have been a tiny little thing but no one told her. She had an attitude for sure. I loved her but I know a lot of her bratty behaviour was often my fault. I plead guilty to not setting out limits when she was young, and that came back to bite me (literally) as she matured. I still loved her of course, and after a lot of work she became a lovely little companion.
I'm determined to get off on better footing with this bird; I spent endless time in the last year bettering my understanding of parrot behaviour and senegals in particular. I'm sure having everyone on this forum to turn to will be a great help as well and I look forward to meeting you all.
