Hi there everyone! My names galen... i'm a 23 year old man from central pa with a huge passion for animals of all kinds. I'm a pretty simple sorta guy..in my free time i do things like play music (mostly guitar, but have recently taken up the violin). I also enjoy target shooting, building/fixing things, working on cars, and most of all being outdoors as much as possible! While my father was living, he was an employee of the Pennsylvania game commission, so growing up we had all sorts of interesting animals in our house. Probably the coolest were a pair of owls which we had for the better part of a year until they were well enough to re-enter the wild. We also had a fawn, raccoons, opossums, and even a pair of flying squirrels at one point, which by the way have to be one of the cutest little critters in existence : P lol
What has brought me to the site is the fact that I've been wanting a bird for about as long as i can remember, and I've come across one that's in need of a good home, which i believe i can provide. But i understand that adopting a bird, especially an older one, is not as simple as bringing it home, sticking it in a corner, and going about your life. I want to do my best to ensure that, should i buy him, he is treated as well as possible and that his transition is as stress free as possible. So i invite anyone who is willing to give a first timer a helping hand to share some of your collective knowledge with me! I will post the in depth information in the General Parrot Information forum. Hope to hear from all you experts out there, and thanks in advance for your help! : )
