Hello all.
Iam from India & currently have a flock of budgies. Iam setting up a aviary & looking for a reputed & genuine breeder who can send me cockatoos, amazons & macaws with all legal paperwork. Any leads or references is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
RP

Hello and welcome! Unfortunately I cannot help you with finding someone able to send birds to you, but I can welcome you to the forum and bump your thread up to get more attention! We have lots of knowledgeable members, and hopefully one with the information you are seeking will come along soon.

Hey- welcome!

Have you had any specific experience with the species you mentioned?

Just a few heads-up: cockatoos and macaws shouldn't be housed together in the same air- space because cockatoos are extremely dusty and macaws are often hyper-sensitive to their dander (respiratory hyper sensitivity). Also, cockatoos are THE MOST surrendered parrots of all, statistically (especially umbrellas and moluccans)...They are VERY complicated "pets" (truly, truly like toddlers with chainsaws and a megaphones--- and you could say that about all parrots, but just PLEASE do so much research and see if you can spend some time volunteering in a place that has adult birds, because none stay babies (even though it can take 6 years for them to hit puberty).

You can't just stick a mix of random birds in an aviary. Even 2 large birds of the same type may or may not get along and should have their own enclosures.

Getting 1 of the birds you mention is a life-long and very serious commitment, so I hope you think long and hard because they are complicated and live forever.

Welcome and be welcomed. DO your research on the regulations on importing parrots. Depending on each country they vary. Most by far, do not allow international sales of even marginally protected species, and the ones you mention are highly protected. Look up India's acceptance of the CITES classifications and the regs for importing. I think your best bet is to find domestic breeders of these species within India, however hard that might be.

What is your goal here, to have them as companion animals ( pets) or to start breeding them in India?

Welcome to the forums! Best wishes for your search, respect for seeking to accommodate all legalities!

I do have a friend who has better experience with these birds. The aviary is being divided into 4 blocks,1 block for each of the birds & 4th one for conures.

May I ask, why do so want so many if you've not had one? It's really hard to care for 1, let alone as many as you are talking..And how will you keep them from breeding etc?
