Hi all my name is Lou and I am pleased to join the forum, I look forward to hearing all about yourselves and more importantly your birdies! :)

Welcome Lou, I see you have several birdies! We'd love to see pics when you get a chance :)

Hello and welcome, Lou! Glad you joined us! Please share your flocks' stories and photos.

Hi guys thankyou for the welcome! when I can figure this forum out I will post some pics but in the meantime id love to tell you about them, they are all adopted bar my little guy so we shall start with him. Caesar is a joy, he is a happy birdie and spends his days flying and hanging off toys (especially ones with bells) he is very quiet for a conure and as we had him young he is a very balanced, happy chap. He likes to bully the others but recently he has been trying to make friends with Jimmi. Jimmi is adopted and she is roughly 15yrs old, she lived in a tiny cage and had little to no handling, she loves the taste of flesh, she bites hard, she doesn't fly much as she was caged for so long and if she does it doesn't always end well, bless her! she spends her days on a tree we made for her and ignores the others, she loves to chew and her favourite thing to do is swing, she is a bit of a fussy eater but we work on this. Ivor is my boy, he doesn't hate my partner just ignores him, Ivor is 3 yrs old, he didn't come from a bad home, they were just inexperienced and he to spent a lot of time in his cage, Ivor doesn't really talk, he mumbles a couple of things but you cant really make it out. He spends most of his time on my head or the floor, he loves the remote and mobile phones, they are destroyed!! he is a real gentle soul, he is so young but has the disposition of an old man, just happy to watch the world go by. Chilli is our problem child, Chilli is 5 yrs and screams constantly all day everyday, he came to us because of this, his previous owner unfortunately didn't realise he was reinforcing this behaviour, Chilli doesn't really know he's a bird, he doesn't know how to play or occupy himself, when he's out he just sits on top of the door or my shoulder and that's where he stays, he is beautiful, funny, trying and sweet, he can be exhausting but we love him, Alfie and Elvy are new additions to the flock, Alfie is a big boy and Elvy is very small, they came to me with 1 toy in a dirty cage, I was told they don't like toys, Elvy is sadly plucked and whatever horror she has faced shows all over her, when we first brought her home she just shook and growled. within the first 5 mins of me putting toys in they were playing! we are still getting to know eachother so I will post more on them as we get to know eachother. x

I am especially interested in hearing about Caesar :) I have GCCs and am interested in learning more about how their less common relatives do as pets :)

well SilverSage I too would love to hear about yours! I am a huge GCC fan, they are such great little birds, to be honest there isn't much difference, he is playful, cuddly, intelligent, nippy at times though never aggressive, he is into absolutely everything, can be destructive but more investigative, loves having his baths, he really loves to fly, he's great at keeping himself entertained with toys, he eats well, he snuggles right under my chin before he goes to bed, he is very affectionate, an absolute delight. x

oh I forgot to say he is quiet, so quiet, he kinda imitates step up but that's about it he doesn't talk or scream.
