Blue Front Amazon
Nice to come across this forum!! I am glad to be a part.
I have a blue front Amazon, Gregor who is about 34 years. We have been together for the last 23 years.
In the morning, I would give him fresh veggies and fruits. I used to give him mozarella low fat string cheese(which he loved) until I had a blood test done on him a couple of years ago and found out his liver function tests were out of this world, cholesterol was abnormally high, etc. Of course his thyroid was very low. So, in addition to thyroid meds, he got a change in his diet- he doesn't get any more string cheese. He still gets his fresh fruit and veges.
Gregor also loved nutriberries and I was giving them as his evening treats, in addition to organic, fuit, seeds and nut clusters(human food)
When I looked at the ingredients- sugar and corn syrup were in the ingredients.
So,I have been surfing the net for nutriberry home made recipes with organic ingredients with min added sugar and definitely NO corn syrup.
I also tried chop which I dutifully made for about 2 months- didn't seem to like them after the first couple of days.
He likes breads- I got some European sunflower Flax seed whole grain breads that he seems to love now.Very dense. :green:
Being the mom that I am, I am trying to get him food he will eat.
He also has the Zupreem non colored pellets and sugar is high on that list too!!
So, I am in search of wonderful recipes- have already come across a few which I am going to create.
Wish me luck every body!!

Welcome to the forums! Congratulations for twenty three years with your gorgeous Gregor. He's lucky to have such a caring mom. Best of luck with the expanding menu, I bet he will enjoy taste testing all the healthy goodies you make for him.

Welcome Mei, thanks for a wonderful introduction! You're doing a terrific job with Gregor as evidenced by his age!
