Hey,
I am from South Australia and own more than 45 different parrots. I keep a pair of princess parrots, Fischer lovebirds, peach face lovebirds, masked lovebirds, 3 Galahs, cockateils, red rumped parrots, king quail, rainbow lorikeets, doves, painted finches and hoping to get pearly conures and mandarin ducks in the near future. :)

Thanks,
Ebony

awwws ound loverly :) an welcome to forum :) feel free to tell us more about there antics!! with 45 i'm sure you'll have loads of stories :)

I can't imagine myself owning that many birds anymore. I used to own at one point about 150 birds when I used to breed, it was a full time job!!!! Cleaning cages, feed, dust, cleaning out clogged air filter, sweeping and vacuuming, handfeed, raising meal worms for them, training, etc. Plus I had 3 dogs, a fish tank, 8 bunnies, and 3 geese. Along with my house cleaning, mowing, and vegetable garden. I was home ALL the time....lol

But now I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 fish tanks, and 8 birds. I can handle one more parrot, but one more fish tank gotta go if I do get one more. Plus I do my own remodeling of my house room by room. So it's a full time job away from my regular job...

I know what you mean by it being a full time job, all my birds are outside in large aviaries. When I'm handraising I go home during lunch time when I'm at school just to feed my bubs.. I'm pretty committed to my hobby and always will be. :)

I didn't have the luxury having an outdoor aviary. Where I used to live out in the country, we had snakes, coyotes, foxes, eagles, hawks, etc etc that constantly visiting near by or in my yard. Plus it gets VERY cold where I used to live up in South Dakota. I was living in a pretty big farm house so I had many rooms in the house to keep my babies safe. My geese are being put up at night into their house so the coyotes or sometimes mountain lions were being spotted around town, wouldn't eat them in the dark. We keep an close eye out in the yard and a shot gun near by....

Glad we don't have them here, only the introduced foxes to worry about with poultry, therefore we have to lock all the chickens and stuff up at night, I had my beloved peacock killed by a fox who dug under the enclosure.. :(

My geese house had a base so they can't dug underneath to get in. Sorry to hear about your peacock....
