1 African Grey Congo = Shredder
Hello the Parrot Forum! I stumbled across this when I was researching the possibility of traveling by RV with my sidekick, Shredder. Don't even have the RV yet, so it is just for information and thinking ahead. Found my answers, but thought this was a useful resource, so I decided to register and contribute.

Shredder is an African Grey. My wife originally came up with a longer name when we adopted him/her 10 years or so ago, but that got left by the wayside when she revealed her true personality. While my wife was the one who picked her out, she decided to pick me as her person.

Welcome to the forum, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the wealth of information here :) I'd love to see pictures of Shredder!

welcome to the forum!! Traveling across the US in an RV with our 3 fids is one of our retirement considerations. I'll be looking forward to your insights and posts!

Welcome to the forums! I would assume as long as they have their cages and they get their regular outside cage time with you and dont drive crazy and knock them around in their cages when riding around... I dont see the issue. :) better than rehoming! My best wishes on your decision. :)

Picture of Shredder

Thanks for the welcome. I took this picture of Shredder last night as part of the process of signing up here. She was a little annoyed at being brought out of her cage... it was her idea that it was bed time.

Yes, I am thinking toward retirement when I started thinking about taking our bird on the road. She hasn't had much experience in the car, so I guess that in the few years before I get to that stage, I will need to introduce her to the concept. I certainly am not considering giving her up when we travel!

Looking forward to sharing experiences with our feathered friends. :grey:

My husband and I took our Goffin Cockatoo Silus with us in our RV. Silus did great he loved looking at all the trucks passing us by. We drove to North Carolina and back, He Loved it. Going to Utah for 3 wks and of course will be bringing him and our 2 dogs with us.
