Hi everyone,

I need to learn more about green cheeked conures. I've had a parrotlet a short time & am having so much fun with him that I'm thinking about a second bird:eek:

GCCs have caught my eye but want to lurk here with all of you to learn more about them, having more than one bird, other birds to consider, etc.

Hope you don't mind if I pull up a chair awhile and just listen

Welcome to the forum.....yep, p'lets are fun birds, as are green cheeks.....both can be clowns and both can have attitudes.....the only real difference I could see between my p'let & a GCC I once had is that the p'let can turn a whole T-shirt into lace in 2 days, while the GCC would have taken about a week.....

Well, I guess I could say that the GCC was better at making toothpicks out of soft wood than my p'let has ever been.....

Yes my p'let has shredded the collar & cuffs of one heavy sweatshirt and is working on the one I wear while the other is in the laundry. Thankfully he doesn't shred my fingers like he does that shirt!

Welcome

Welcome to the forum!

Whatever bird you do decide to choose just be sure to keep an eye on your Parrotlet as they're very much like Lovebirds and will nip and pick on other types of birds. So basically they don't play well with others. Green Cheeks are generally very quiet birds, at least all the ones I've met in the past and I've been around a lot of Green Cheeks. But it doesn't mean they can't be noisy. The best thing you do with a Green Cheek is teach them right from the beginning as they're known to get nippy so be prepared.
