- RIP Hugo (African Brown Headed Parrot) 2 years old, lil Rosie May (Lovebird)
Hi everyone,
I am based in the Eastern Cape abd have always owned Lovebirds. In January this year I popped into my local petshop and saw Hugo who is an African Brown Headed Parrot. He is now 1 year and 2 months. He was very wild and scared but he is now extremely loveable and rules the roost in my home. He has the freedom to have his cage open all the time and loves his toys - especially the cheap ones like pine cones and the edges of my books!
I have found that he can be very tempremental and have to watch that I dont misread what he's thinking. I have always loved parrots and hope to add a new addition to the family in the future. I have found that not many people own Brown Headed Parrots which is a shame as Hugo has proven loving and very forgiving. He had been in the petshop for three months but was still eager to bond with me.
I am desperate for communication with people who also share love for parrots and any advice would be great.
