Hi, new to the forums. Have been around, and raised several birds, most recently have been raising several varieties of finches.
Started with a wild caught halfmoon conure about 35 years ago. Armed with nothing but a book and some heavy rubber gloves ( he was named Spike for a reason) I trained him to be a very affectionate tame bird.
Raised a hand fed cockatiel which lived to be 25 years old.
We adopted a few conures along the way.
Most recently we purchased an older (13 years) male eclectus.
Our finches are in flight cages.
We've bred and raised 3 zebra finches which we still have, as well as their parents.
We have courdon bleus, spices and gouldians.
Our newest family member, the ecelctus has a very large free standing perch top cage with ample room and lots of toys.
Glad I found this forum!!
