Hello everyone!
I have found this community by searching for info about parrots on google, and it seems this forum is a nice place to be for this, so here I am! :09:

We are a young couple looking for a nice cuddly pet.
We have made our research on the internet and visited a store to get help (we'll visit more), based on the following:

- we both work, so except from 3 days a week when one or the other is at home for a full day, we can see the pet only a bit in the morning and all the evening
- we live in a flat, so while at work the pet would have to sadly remain in a cage. The flat is quite sound proofed, but a highly noisy pet might be still a little bit more problematic
- we like a pet that is cuddly. Doesn't need necessarily to be a talker, we like one that shows you love back when you love him.

Based on that it seems that the 2 best options are cockatiel and green cheek conure :grey::rainbow1:
I have seen there is already a fairly recent thread asking for the differences, so I will probably queue my questions there to keep the thing on topic http://www.parrotforums.com/general-parrot-information/62188-conure-cockatiel.html

Well, I hope to be a nice parrot owner soon too, my family just got a hand reared cockatiel a couple of weeks ago, and even if we can just see him on facetime (they live far), we are both in love
But before I get one I want to make sure I am ready

Thanks everyone for the support in advance!!!! :)

There are lots of knowledgeable people here. I'll leave the advice to them...I've only ever owned one bird. But I WILL compliment you on your preparations and inquiries. Good luck!

Thanks! I have to admit I like to learn about everything I am interested on before jumping on something, no matter what it is.
But with a living thing, something that can give affection... That obsessive behaviour gets multiplied a 1000 times: going for the "well, I spent the money in the wrong way, I'll sell it back" is a lot harder and shouldn't be done at all when there is life involved!

We'll see about the help ;) Cheers!!!

Welcome to the forums! Thank you for sufficiently revering a bird's life to investigate and learn as much as possible before making an impulsive decision. Don't know much about GCCs, but it is hard to go wrong with a cockatiel! Feel free to ask questions!!
