As posted several days ago I was considering buying a Sun for my wife's birthday. After a lot of thought my oldest boy and I went to see him, to get a feel for how we felt about the bird and how he felt about us. It was love at first sight. Sunny went right to my boy and began preening his hair. He came to me just as easily. The previous owner was right. This is one easy going bird. We took him home that night and the wife was, of course, ecstatic. Sunny goes to sleep in his cage tent at 5-530pm and wakes up at 6 when the family does. He squawks very little so far. 2 or 3 times a day with 2 or 3 squawks. Maybe my hearing is going but the volume is nothing like I'd been led to believe. He likes to be hand fed and loves to preen anyone who is willing to be given a facial. Even the dogs are learning to ignore him. They are watched closely though. Thanks again for all the advice.

He's a stunner, just so pretty - good luck with you new baby and congratulations on your new addition lol :)

Yay! It was obviously meant to be =)

Congrads! I just picked up mine last weekend and he is already a character! I haven't heard much screaming from him either. Yet at least...once they are settled that could change...

once they are settled that could change...

this....

Dont get me wrong tho, they are great birds, i have a Jenday and absolutely love him....
But, everything you read is true, they are loud...

LOL just wait until he's settled in!

Casper gets LOUD and he's nothing compared to Sun's I've heard. Their screech is....supersonic.

But he's lovely :] Enjoy him!

He's beautiful! Your wife must be on cloud 9:)

The people who told you suns are loud were not lying... they ARE loud hahaha! A vast majority of suns and jendays are. They are loud when they're happy, angry, excited, upset! :D It takes a special person to handle a loud sun. I could not deal with them lol. Glad he's being an angel. Babies and new comers usually are. Hope he stays that way!

Congratulations! I am so happy he has found a forever home with you!!! Keep us updated!!!

Congratulations! Aren't they wonderful little birds?

Tango is just now beginning to find his voice AND use it. Right now, he's been put to bed and I can hear him chattering away with a few screeches thrown in for fun. xD

Yeah, I agree! Once Conures are settled into their new environment they will start to test their boundaries. This is where it gets fun for a new owner. :-p
