Hi everyone, my name is Ange and I've just joined today. I'm not only new to this site, but to having Lovebirds in my family.
I've had Mango and Pickles for just over a month now. I adore both of them. Pickles is the male and Mango is the female. I only wanted Mango, but was sort of conned into buying Pickles. But that's okay...he's a treat to have around.
I am not sure how old they are, but Pickles had a small, thin black strip across his beak when I brought him home, and it is now gone, so I'm guessing he's roughly 5 or 6 months. Mango never had that, so I don't have any idea of her age.
Both are very affectionate and love to give kisses. Their time out is usually spent between finding something to chew, picking on my dog and relaxing on my shoulder. They do go with me everywhere inside. If they're not riding my shoulder, then they're hanging off my shirt or they fly after me.
I have become a human birdbath, as they will only have a bath if I stand still in the kitchen, holding a container of water for them.
They are delightfully comical, affectionate and intelligent. I am so glad they have adopted me.
