I have two Lovebirds
Hi Everyone,
My name is Kate. My husband and I have two lovebirds. Missy and Mary. We adopted them about 6 months ago. They are both 2 years old and are bonded. We have had some ups and downs (a lot of biting, not wanting to be around us) because the transition was difficult for them. We are learning what they need and how to build a relationship. I am going to begin training them to wave this coming week. I will keep you updated on how that goes.

We are looking into bringing home a new bird. We would like to build a strong bond with the bird. We were thinking a baby that we could hand feed and ween. So far we have been drawn to Grey's and Eclectus. I have posted a question in the Grey category about our decision.

Looking forward to being a part of this community. Your help and knowledge is greatly appreciated.

Peace,
Kate

aww they are so cute! good luck with your decision on getting another bird.

Unless you have experience hand feeding I would not buy an unweaned baby. All three of my parrots were originally hand fed and handtame and they were between 5 and 6 months old when I purchased them. and I am very happy with them. There is too much that can go wrong with handfeeding a baby and I would not take the risk personally. Watch some of Ant's posts on Mishka and her videos and I bet you will want to get a grey. If I was a lot younger and didn't have asthma I would get an african grey in a heartbeat. Welcome to the forum and just my opinion:)
