New here. We built a screen door aviary in our bedroom. The top part is a loft for our many cats. Most of the birds were born in there so they have been seen climbing the screen to check out a cats tail. We are always making changes to improve protection for the birds. I've repainted the walls.
During the cleaning I am seeing several ants and wondered the best way to get rid of them safely and that search led me here!

Welcome to the forums.....if it is only to inquire about ant eradication.....

Ants are a year-round prob here in Florida. The best success I've had, though it is NOT a natural prouct, is with Terro (Home Depot, Walgreens, and ??) in the little orange box. It CANNOT be used where any of your pets or kids can get at it. The safest way to use it that I know of so far is to squirt some in one of those little green tubes that single flower stems are put in when they are filled with water. They have a rubbery lid. That way you can put it on the little moulding ledge over a doorway, or slip it under a dresser or behind something. If the ants are trailing, follow them with a flashlight and find the two end points. That is the best spot to put it. Apparently, it is yummy to certain ants, they crowd around it, eat it, go back to their nests and by the next day, you never see them anymore. It is ALWAYS worked for us.
