Hi

My name is Nick and I'm currently the owner of two cockatiels and I'm wanting to get a new bird soon.

Hi and welcome Nick.
What other bird are you wanting, any particular species?
Are you thinking of adopting a bird? so many needing homes.

Welcome to the forum!
What type of bird are you looking at getting?
I would love to see pictures of your current birds!

Hello Nick, pleased to meet you! Welcome to our community, browse around and enjoy the many interesting topics we have. So much to learn!

Which bird(s) have you looked into getting? Like Antoinette said, you can try an avian rescue. They are full of birds that need homes.

Happy hunting!

Hey there Nick. Please do consider an adopted bird. If you live in NJ you will have lots of them available. Here are two good places to check out: The Phoenix Landing foundation and the Gabrial foundation. There are hundreds of birds needing homes and usually the foster parent works on any health or behavior issues before adopted.

I'd love to adopt a bird but I don't know if there are any shelters in my area that take in birds to adopt out :(.

I'm looking into getting a parrotlet because they aren't too expensive and they have personalities like a big parrot but I'm still looking for suggestions

Thanks for sharing.

Welcome Nick. We don't have any shelters where I live either however I did a lot of internet searching and managed to come across a few birds needing homes. I ended up with one of them and I must say she is pretty amazing. If I ever want to add to my "flock" in the future I'll definately go for a rescue. Not sure where you live but in Oz our main animal rescue group is the RSPCA, although known mainly for dogs and cats they have a number of Parralets needing homes. Good Luck

Well I talked to my mom (I'm only 16) and she said that her and my dad would bring me to a bird rescue that's in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday.

This is the website for the rescue:

The Association for Parrot C.A.R.E.

Welcome to the forum. I'm so glad that you're looking at adopting a bird. Good luck and keep us informed.

Welcome, Nick-- and your two 'Tiels!
