Hi all. How are you? I have had a lot of birds in my time. And I have worked with a breeder for a few years. One day she showed me a vid of a parrot sanctuary. It was over run with birds needing new homes. At the end she told me she can no longer be part of the problem and that as of that day we was dun breeding. So. We homed the birds we had. Know I just keep parrots as pets. I do have a bonded pare of grays and I may raise one or two for my self as all of us breeders have stopped and rescue/adopt instead. This makes finding pet parrots in this area a bit harder. But I did find this pare. And am happy with them. But they do have baggage and as a pare are not the same as one of my hand raised birds. But I still love them and with a ton of work they will be good pets. I also think it will be fun to share the good and bad with you all as I go. I have only hade them for a month. So am just getting started. Wish me luck lol

Welcome to the forum!!! Good luck training them, it's not a easy process training pairs instead of a individual bird. IF you can pick one out of the two that's easier to train, work with that one first as the other one will follow suit.

I don't know that was not a question I asked.
But I think Shuggie was a mistreated pet. Not curl. But not a informed owner. As he has picked himself in the past and is a big time bitter. Last bite les then 15 min ago. Figgy is over biting. But Shuggie is trying to teach me how the game works. Anyways I think Figgy was got as a way to try and fix Shuggie. Without putting in the work. Figgy is not a bad bird but. Behaves like a breeder more then a pet. In that she wants nothing to do with me and don't talk. A gray that don't talk at all. Hmmm. Ware as Shuggie talks , gos out of his way to bite and has picked himself. Sounds like the behavior of a misunderstood bird to me. I should add this is a easy mistake to make. If more people understood the harm that they are doing by letting there dog be fat. We would have less fat dogs. Research research research your pet will be better for it. Bird, dog, cat, snake or fish. It don't matter do you and your pet the favor of knowing what your doing. This is why am here. After a life time with birds . I still don't know everything.
