Hello!

I'm new around here. (Obviously.) I've always grown up around birds. We bred cockatiels when I was a kid, and had a myriad of other birds. (Including an african grey, a yellow nape amazon, and green wing macaws.) My father currently has a green wing (though, the macaw is strictly a one-person sort of bird. He loves my father to bits.) I'm on my own, living with my husband, and we've decided to get a pet. (Which will more than likely be a bird.) I think we've settled on a breed, but I still want to do my research since the breed we've settled on is one that I haven't had much experience with other than playing with them at stores.

Anyway, so, this is hello. I'm terrible at this obligatory introductory posts.

Thank you! I fell in love with a yellow crown amazon at the petstore, but my husband isn't a huge bird person/is still learning to interact with them. We're looking into getting a caique because they're a little more compact that an amazon, but have big personalities. We've been spending time at a local petstore that specializes in birds to get him comfortable before we bring anyone home. The caiques were among his (and my) favourites.
