Hi There! My name is Rhonda Sue and I'm new to your forum. I recently acquired my first bird, she's a sun conure named Stella. In the last three weeks, I have been able to get her fully off the pet store bird seed diet she was on. She has fresh fruit and veggies each morning with me as I have my coffee. She adores green beans and doesn't mind me helping her crack them open to get to the prize inside. I have learned quite a bit from YouTube and the help of a lady named Manda and her GCC Tio. But I want to belong to a community of bird owners and receive more than one point of view as I believe no two birds are the same. If you had the ability to pass on one great piece of advice, what would it be? I welcome your thoughts!

Welcome! Lots of bird-lovers here to help you out. While you're having a look around, you can take any issue or topic which interests you, use the Search Tab and then read about it. It's a really good engine.

My best advice? Easy! Be creatively paranoid. I am obsessive about imagining anything and everything that MIGHT go wrong, and then compulsively planning to avoid it somehow. Birds get into the strangest messes.

Has Stella had a well-check by an avian vet? Some pet shops offer a complimentary basic exam, but if not having a baseline exam is a good but not urgent idea.
