Hello!!

My name is Luka. I'm not "technically" new, as I made an account back in 2014 to ask some questions about immigrating and conures, which has become irrelevant in the grand scheme of my life as it's now been 3 years and I have no plans to travel in the near future. C'est la vie.

But anyway, I'm happy to announce (3 years late) that I did adopt the conure that was mentioned in that old post. Her name is Birdie and I haven't regretted bringing her home once. In addition, I've adopted two ringneck doves, and inherited a cockatiel from a friend. My family certainly grew!

It's nice meeting you all (again)! I hope with a couple of years of experience (not much, but something) I may actually be a resource. At the very least, having had the experience of birds in dorms (doable depending on regulations, but not ideal) I can offer some experience-based advice to students.

I’m seriously thinking of getting a Conure, I’ve seen some of the cutest most loving pictures of Conures on here and it makes me want one of my own!!!! Welcome again Luka you have some adorable feather babies!!!

Thank you so much for your compliments everyone!! I love my cuddly babies! Everyone but the doves love scritches... the doves just love each other and couldn't care less if I'm around .

@CornyBabies2005: conures are so sweet! They're noisy though lol. Cockatiels are very cuddly too...
If I were to say what kind of bird I want next, it would be a caique hands down. What playful clowns, haha.

@GaleriaGila: they're so sweet! With doves, my experience is: if you get one, they bond to you very very very closely, but they're super lonely when you aren't around!! If you get two, they spend every waking moment with each other and are very happy, but also they don't care about me at all, lol. One of them won't even step up for me and refuses to learn...
