help crazy parrot

my parrot is a Green-cheeked aka Red-crowned Amazons, Red-crowned Parrots or Mexican Red Headed Parrots

for some reason my parrot goes crazy like something attacking and flaps hits the bottom of the cage and starts screaming and looks and reacts scared this usually happends at night with the cage opened or covered

i just can understand whats happening cant find nothing on the cage incects or any other thing..

maybe if you got him/her a nightlight? might just be noises in the dark that freaks it out.

Sounds like night terrors...is his cage covered ? he might like it better uncovered ?

Welcome to Parrot Forums! There may be a bug that is staying well hidden until the lights go out, or even a mouse. Either one can cause serious illness if they are raiding your bird's food dish.

thank you all for the replies....

the light always helps my parrot to calm down and yes i'm pretty sure i dont have mice but insects yes i will check the food tray every night.

that might be the problem insects crawling inside the cage thank you.
