hi, ths s nithi im havin a lutino cockatiel for past two months. it was 2nd half months old when i bought it! i realy dnt kno its sex! to my gues its a female, cz she s nt so vocal! bt she startd to perform trick lyk wavie... i feel lyk gettin it a pair! pls hlp me in doin it, with out knowin its sex how cld i get her d opposite sex! will it work by making it to interact with other birds nd select d one which gets attractd to it??? giv me few suggestions...

Bring it to a vet and have a feather pulled and get it sexed... it doesn't cost much. Anything else is just a guess.. and while you have a 50/50 shot.. would you rather pay 40$ and know your birds sex, or pay 60$ and wind up with a bird that your bird happened to interact well with...?

Welcome to the forum

If she is not carrying the pied gene, then you should be able to sex her via her flight and tail feathers... however, this requires her having gone through her adult molt and having adult feathers.... since males and females will appear identical at a young age.

Susanne Russo has some great images on helping to sex cockatiels via the wings.

You'll either have to wait it out and see if she keeps the spots and stripes as she matures (if she has them), or get a DNA sex done to find out.

Hi Nithi,
I don't have an answer to your question, but something to consider: you might actually get more help/responses by avoiding the use of 'text speak'. Lots of people will just skip over your post because they can't be bothered trying to translate it. Personally I loathe text speak & will generally not read any further as soon as I see it.

Other than that, welcome to the forum :)

Considering what's been said, I'm going to guess that English is not the first language that Nithi speaks. I may be wrong, but it's just a guess.

I came to this idea because the user used "d" instead of "the". In certain languages, "the" is spelled "de", "den" or "die". If English is not the first language, and they are not good at spelling English words, this would account for what you see as "text speak". Then again, Nithi may be speaking in text speak as well as broken English.

I sort of gave up when trying to read that. If can type, anyone can.

You could be right. I admit I hadn't considered that possibility. I apologise if that is the case.
