My baby green cheek conure just flew into a window ;-(
It's lying, not moving much, his head is bent to the left and his left wing seems numb. I called the avian vet she said there s not much she can do, just keep him warm and wait. Please does anyone know if there s anything i can do i feel so guilty and heartbroken

I'm very sorry this has happened to your little conure, but it is something that happens all too often ! ! !

Sometimes a bird will just lay there for a while and be knocked out and will recover, but, as the veterinarian told you, there is really nothing that can be done but wait and see.....when your feathered friend recovers, you might want to think about keeping him in a place where he does not become frightened and fly into windows or even into walls, as some birds do.....

Good luck.....

Thank you

He's standing up now, but his neck is still a little bent to the side

It was my mistake for letting him out at a friend's place.

You might want to take him back home until you are sure he has recovered, new things & new places can stress out injured animals, preventing them from properly recovering until you are sure he's recovered & OK.....his remaining slight bend is very similar to our stiff/sore neck & while it should correct itself, it may take some time to do so.....

I'm sorry that happened, I hope your little one fully recovers. Please keep us updated.

Thank you all. He's back at home with a heater nearby. He's doing better, perching now. Still with his neck bent though. And much quieter than usual. That has definitely taught me a good lesson
