We are thrilled to have become Henry's parents! Henry is a rose-breasted cockatoo. He is 6 months old. We bought him from the breeder who hand-raised him.
He's been with us for one month and we are madly in love!!!! So far he knows how to say Hi and Hello.
We are brand new parents and would live to hear any and all advice you can give on how to teach him say new words and do tricks

The way I get my Amazon to say new words is to sit with him and repeat a word or phrase over and over! I make sure I have his attention first! I know when he is listening to me as he puts his head to the side. You could also try making a CD of different words and phrases, then when you go out, put it on repeat.
If you want to train him, clicker training is a very good method. Have a look on Youtube and it will show you exactly how to do it.
