Here they are... My boys

It seems I mention Robin and Raven with such regularity that I thought it might be time for some pics I've been so busy lately, but today I'm able to be home this afternoon. Spending some time with the boys...

Robin (Red Bellied parrot) is the bird who I've loved like a child for almost 20 years now. Out of all the birds/pets I've ever had, HE stands out as the most special, beloved, most bonded one ever.

Raven (Bronze Winged Pionus) is Robin's roommate. They're definitely NOT friends, and it was hard getting the last photo... I had to take it quickly before Robin turned to attack Raven even though he's half his size.

Back when I got Robin, I wasn't very good at naming, so I asked my dad and he suggested Robin because yes, as you say, he has the orange breast like the songbird Robin. One drawback throughout his life though, is that virtually everyone thinks he's a girl when they hear the name (unless they know male RB are the orange ones).

Raven is named after a Raven because he's very dark. My phone camera doesn't take great pics as far as color goes, but yes he is that dark in color. I can't really tell what color his back is, it's a mix of blue-ish, grayish, and brownish. He wouldn't turn around, but his front is more of a dark blue with a salmon pinkish 'bib' on his throat. I don't want to jinx it, but he's actually been such a good boy the past couple days

I'm guessing Raven is a *tad* naughtier than Robin? Robin has 'cute sweetie pie' eyes. Raven has devious eyes My Kiwi has the 'devious' eyes too. You can tell a lot about their personality in their eyes. I guess it's something like micro facial expressions, only relating to parrots!

Very observant about the eyes! Ohhh yeah, Raven is a MUCH naughtier boy than Robin. He will even give dirty looks believe it or not!

I noticed Robin's eyes in the photo look gray, they're actually red.
Robin used to have the devil in him too when he was younger and hormonal like a typical male Red Bellied. Now as an older man, he IS my little cuddly sweetie pie ......... usually.

Pretty Boys!!

The shelter has a black lory named Poe...a bit cliche but admit he caught my attention right away that first day I went to the shelter! The lories are way too messy for me though even the awesome looking Poe
