my baby green quacker
hi i have just joined and need some advice

am after a parrot £200 -230 and been looking at quackers or possible conures

first thing which would be best as my first parrot

next i quite like the look of a quacker due to price etc
the shop i want to get them from are 16 weeks old 2 are hand tame and the rest are out of aviary but was told they will be easy to train is this true

i mainly want a parrot easy to train so i can handle and may teach tricks and talk

any help or info is great looking to get in next few days if you can get back asap
also any one used midland parrots in ibstock leicestershire

Hi there Trist. You have joined a wonderful forum with lots of great bird lovers. I do not have a quaker but they are nice little birds easily trained if you know how. They are a grassland bird from Argentina originally. They are known to colonize in USA and do some damage to power lines and crops.
They are banned in some USA states. As a companion bird you would not have to worry about that. Conures are also cuties and are known to be clowns. They can be on the nippy side but do not let that deter you. If you can get hold of the book Parrots for Dummies to read and use as a resource you will be well on your way to a guardian.
 
If you want a parrot that can learn to talk 'ALOT', Congo African Greys(CAG) are the way to go. they generally run just over $1,000, but you can get around that, if you can find someplace, or site to adopt one.
