Hi there! I'm a high school girl trying to survive junior year, and my birdies are my feathery best friends.
I grew up with a cockatiel named Zippy, and he was just AWESOME, and it broke my entire family's heart when he died three years ago (we have no idea what happened, he was just dead one day.
Although he had a lovely life, 13 years of it.).
Since the beginning of this year I expressed interest in getting a new cockatiel, and we bought a hand-raised fella from our local bird store. Naming him was an epic affair. At first we thought it was a girl, so we named him Dinah, but he started whistling like nuts just recently so now, after six months of being Dinah, he's Dean (my mom calls him Dean-o.)
I often visit the parrot store since it's quite close to my school, I love seeing what babies they're raising and what birds they have for sale (not to mention browsing through all the toys and perches). That's when I totally fell for a little half-moon conure who was almost weaned. My dad knew we were doomed to get another bird when I kept asking to go see the conure every day after school. She was such a friendly and fiesty little bird. I actually used my own money from a choir job to buy her. I named her Noodle.
Anyway, that's the story of my birds. Hi everyone! I hope I have fun here.
