I am new to this forum but not new to owning parrots. Lol. Live near latrobe pa and I have small and large bird experience. I love all birds and to help them when in need is something i am passionate about. I am a stay at home mom of two little girls and owned by a rescued miligold macaw thats 3 1/2. looking to help more macaws as theyre one of the most understood in the parrot world ! Mine was a severe biter and rather loved bring in cage than out but now is becoming such a sweet heart after lots of hard work. He loves coming out of his cage and is learning he doesnt have to bite everything. Learning that its ok to be touched and loved. He had prefered men but is ok with me being his primary caregiver. Socialization is our next big step as he still would love bite strangers if they came too close. He is amazing with h is beak pressue and never bites hard at all. No blood drawn or amything .He is getting used to kids as I have a two yr old and four month old. This macaw has learned to gently take treats from my two yr old with my supervision. Both my two yr old and kenway love their time together. I have so much hope for this big guy and any suggestions. .advice please id love to hear from you!
