Hi from almost new Pionus owner

Hi everyone,

I will be getting a baby Maximilian Pionus this summer, and I know I will need help and suggestions. I live in Los Angeles, and haven't had a pet bird for about 20 years! Looking forward to it, and to learning more on this forum.

Welcome,

Pionus are awesome birds, they are often recommended on this forum. One thing to keep in mind with Pionus is that they are one of the most prone parrots to aspergillus.
Be aware of asper and do some research on it, work hard to keep your house well ventilated and mold free.
