My name is Luisa and I'm from Astoria, NY. I am owned by an almost 7 year old Seneal, Sammie, 3 Golden Retrievers, and a cat.

Sammie is a sweetheart (with just myself) and has been a great buddy for the past 7 years. He very recently started plucking which is what has brought me here to seek out some answers.

Did you say, three Golden Retrievers? Add a cat and Senegal to your household and it sounds like a very happy, if busy place.

Welcome to the forum!!! Has Sammie had a vet visit recently? If not, you should have him checked out just to be on the safe side cause plucking can be many different types of issues.

Hi,

Sammie hasnt had any changes in our home or environment at all. I have already taken him to the vet and tests so far show an elevation in Bile acids which is highly suspect for liver damage (treating with milk thistle and lactulose. We are treating a bacterial infection as well, probably due to the intense plucking. Accdg to the blood tests, he has severe tissue and muscle damage from it. I am IN SEARCH OF A NICER COLLAR, one more palatable for Sammie. if you have any links or suggestions, plz feel free to leave them here.

LOL @Alle Yes its a busy place for sure, but believe it or not, my dogs are pretty calm in the house. Izzy my cat, well, he rules the roost with the dogs. All 4 really dont pay much attention to Sammie though.
