Hi

I have bought a parrotlet. The breeder told me that is around 5 weeks old. Do you think it's true from the photo? Is this a female. I am currently feeding her twice a day only. Am I doing it right? How much should I feed ml?

Thanks

Hello and welcome!
Have you ever handfed before? Did the breeder give you any advice on how much to feed and how often?
I do not handfeed, but there are several folks here who are quite experienced and I am bumping this up in hope they will see it and respond:)

The noise and bobbing up and down is normal that is a baby begging to be fed.

The breeder should have gone over with you how many times to feed and the amounts! Is the baby picking at food on her own in the cage? What foods are you offering in the cage? What temperature are you feeding at? You are testing the temps with a digital thermometer right?

I am feeding at around 100 Fahrenheit. It have millet spray in the cage and sometimes she eat a bit also It have cockatiel mix seed I was told.

It should be closer to 106 to 107 F and tested so it is not too hot. At the temp you are feeding you are risking it cooling too fast and causing sour crop or crop stasis. A baby as a guideline should be fed approximately 10% of their total body weight. Are you weighing her daily? This should be done every morning before feeding the baby. How long is it taking before the baby is empty?
You should be offering fruits and veggies cut up fine, rice and or quinoa. Lots of dark leafy greens like Kale. This can be cut fine and added to the other foods or even weaved through the bars of the cage to make it both a toy and food.
