I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I'm Alex, my girlfriend's name is Laura. We have 2 eclectus, we got them about 3 months ago. Laura's mom lives on our property (in a separate home) and has 3 eclectus there. So basically we share 5 of them between the two houses.
Here's a photo of Billy and our pitbull Shelby just chillin.

Welcome! What a sweet dog and a sweet birdy!

You're (all three) cute! Oh, wait, there was a dog... all four!
Welcome!

What up, dog. Nice looking ekkies, is the male eating kale in the one pic?

Hi guys and welcome! Loving the pics, can't wait to see more of your flock and hear all about them!

Gorgeous babies!! And welcome. This is such a great forum, very helpful :)

Me too. They're friendly, talkative and like to cuddle. Not to mention adorable.

Welcome to the Parrot Forums family!

What kind of eclectus are they? And what is the female's name?

Thanks, they're both solomon island eclectus. The female's name is scarlett but we typically call her scar baby haha

Scar baby! Hahaha! Well, she's a beauty. They both are.

Agreed, two very beautiful ekkies.

These are our other 3 eclectus, the male and the skinny female are vosmaeri, the chubby female is solomon island. Oz, Ruby and Abby.

Is it really hard to have an eclectus food and care?

Hard? Not really. Just a little more attention to detail. The food should be fresh food and vegetables, with emphasis on high fiber (longer digestive tract) and vitamin a. Food aside they are just like any other parrot: love attention and to be part of the family. Just not so cuddly. With Parker, he wants to sit with you, just doesn't want to be petted. You get a couple wing strokes with the back of your finger and that's it. No head scratches, and only occasional wing strokes by only me. That's it. Other than that it's just chilling on your hand/shoulder, and tons of beak kisses.

Oh, and occasionally bird nips on my nose (I always make a loud *honk* noise when he lightly bites my nose. He loves it).

These two turkeys were pardoned for Thanksgiving and are just starting to learn how to talk. Billy says "Go go go go go" a lot and likes to whistle the first part of the kill bill song from time to time. Scarlett still just likes to mumble but she does have the tendency to scream out "Oh!" at the most seemingly appropriate times.
All is well with both of them, Scarlett kind of gave us a scare because she knocked a box fan over onto herself and was falling off her perch at night for a week or so after... we thought maybe a mild concussion. Poor girl, but shes doing much better and we're trying to get the house as bird proof as possible now. If anyone has any experience with that sort of bird injury I'd like to hear your thoughts.
