Indian Ringneck Parrot, and a Cinnamon Green Cheeked Conure.
Hi everyone, I'm new here but very excited to learn from some of you more experienced parrot parents. I worked at a pet store and was not unfamiliar with parrots when we got ours, but boy did I have a lot to learn. We have a beautiful 3 year old Cinnamon Green Cheeked Conure, he's so funny, and very particular, maybe even a little spoiled, he's lots of fun and has a ton of personality, his name is Ivan, but his nickname is Scurvy. We also have a very handsome Indian Ringneck Parrot named Batman or Batty for short, he is 4 and his family loved him but due to a divorce and other family issues he was ignored except for feedings, and cleaning his cage for about a year when we adopted him. He's such a beautiful boy, he has the cutest personality, but he's also the one I seem to have the most trouble with, he's very hot and cold. I love him and I feel bad because if I get busy and mess with our schedule in the least he gets very ornery at me. I'm hoping you all can help me, I'm also the proud mommy to two beautiful non feathered babies A daughter 12 and a son 15 and I'm married to a amazing man. I'm excited to get to know you all!!!:greenyellow::blue2:

Welcome to the forums, thanks for a lovely introduction!

Seems Scurvy is nicely adjusted but Batty is variable with you. Does Batty behave the same with your family? I am not familiar with IRN personalities, but many members are. Here are a few general links, they may give you some assistance:

Welcome and be welcomed. Always nice to see another pirate Parrot on here. Salty, my YSA, is also pretty used to a schedule , esp when it comes to eating. He will remind us when we are late with lunch, dinner and my training sessions with him. But we have calmed him down a bit by changing the time by a minute or two, day by day, some times early, sometimes late, but always adding or subtracting more, until we have a 1/2 hr window. Kinda mess with his sense of time. Now, we have to be pretty late before the gong goes off, and he is never onery, but he is a very sweet parrot 97% of the time. We love love love pics and videos here, so post away! Here is a vid of my little guy, Salty, doing some tricks.

Thank you guys so much for the warm welcome and the tips, Batty was basically ignored for a year before we got him, his last family had issues, he's different with the rest of the family than me, I'm his person, but when he's mad at me I know it, he's my baby but he can be a challenge, his other family said he was like getting a wild bird, so I'm just trying to love him as much as I can, he freaks out when I go to work or if I can't be with him a lot I think maybe because of past experiences?? He doesn't like my husband but he behaves better for him than me?? He's a conundrum, Scurvy on the other hand came from a home where he was spoiled into our home where he's spoiled so he's all good, we did deal with jeleousy biting when Batty first came but he's great now. Thank you all again so much :greenyellow::blue2:
