Hello all,

I was just wondering how big are your flocks? my self i have 4 right now ( 2GCC, Caique, Alexandrine) but we might be adding 2 re home caiques to our flock which would bring us to 6.

I get a lot of help from my family as i am only 16 and i am still in school, I get them out during the morning and my parents get them out while i am at school, then depending if i have work or riding i will get them out when i get home and they go out before i go to bed. I sometimes wonder if i am giving them a life they deserve, but these parrots are my life, they are my world and i would do any thing for them. I put as much time as i can into them and would do any thing for them.

But yes just curious on how big your flocks are?

I have only the three now - and thats is all I can keep somewhat happy and entertained.

It's great if your birds all get along and they can also keep each other busy and play.
Right now, here it is not so much the case ( breedingseason does not make them good companions) so they all want lots of individual care and attention.

You are lucky you are a birdperson in a birdfamily. :)
(or should I say animalperson? If the riding you mentioned is the kind you do the backs of of horses, camels, ostriches etc.)

At the moment my flock is 12: GCC, 2 budgies and 9 Bourkes. This year my Bourkes breeded and 8 babies hatched (3 in the 1st clutch and 5 in the 2nd). 2 of them I handed over and 6 are still with me.

In total, I have 24 birds. 21 live in an outdoor aviary. The other 3 live inside, and spend the majority of their time out of the cage.

ostriches?! Can you even ride them ?

but no i ride horses, been my love for many years :)

I have 11 at the moment. I am considering buying a rescue bird from a pet shop (RLA) if the price in not too high.

Because I wanted to raise Cockatiels I ended up with 5 Cockatiels until I ended up with a breeding pair. Also I kept trying to find a bird that would make a good friend with Pinky a lutino that I bought at a yard scale and had developed a plucking problem. 3 of my Cockatiels I raised from the egg and could not imagen giving away. I never intended to have so many Cockatiels. In fact I never had any interest in the smaller birds until my first Cockatiel (lucky) landed at my feet where I was working.

Just two and that's enough for me right now, lol! I also have two cats and a dog, I would refer to them as more of a herd.

Annnnnnd, bringing up the rear... I have the One.

Also one! We are a mini-flock, Bumble and I.

My flock is 4 - a GCC, 2 suns and a cockatiel :)

1 lol--- man!

Just one here... unless I can count my husband. He does peck at me sometimes. ;)

These two caiques are being re home and we have agreed to take them on, we are meeting them on sunday to see how they react to us and we will take it from there. One of them is a plucker but all medical issues have been ruled out.

Total of 8. 5 Goffins, 1 Citron, 1 BFA, 1 TAG. About 12 or so years ago I had 13!

I only have two. But wanted to mention that I give a LOT of credit to people that own many. Not sure how you keep up with all the work but you deserve a lot of credit.

I have two budgies, and they are more time consuming than you think haha. I don’t think I’m getting another bird atleast for a while now, as I also have other animals to take care of. I have one dog, a snake and two beardies:)

Just 1 if we’re only counting my feathered non human one [emoji4]
