We just got two 3 months old african greys.
I am a new owner of two beautiful 3 months old African Greys.
They are very scared. How can I calm them down and win their trust?

I would try offering baby food (for birds) in a spoon.
3 months old seems young to me to be fully weened.
young birds often regress when purchased.

Thanks for the advice!
We had a feeding session tonight and used hand feeding baby food.
Afterwards they were a bit more relaxed and even curious. Standing up straight and trying to look over their plastic box.
Decided then to take them out and put them on a blanket on our laps. The one fell asleep but the other one was stil wary. Still is hopefully in time he wil relax.😊

I would spend time holding them and sitting near their cage. Read or talk or sing to them, just like you would with a human baby or child that you want to comfort. Or sit near the cage while you work or study. They need to get used to you being close to them.

African Grey, 3 cockatiels
3 months is very young for African greys to moved to a new carer. Just take your time and be patient. After a few bad ( traumatic) experiences, I wouldn't take a bird that isn't weened. I got my grey at 18 months and she was still a baby. Now she a teenager with an attitude lol ... I love her to death ... but it really is like having a 5 year old running around with a pair of scissors out (not my quote - but identified with it)
