How do I get the ring off the leg

I think Max's ring really irritates him or maybe he's allergic to the metal... The feathers on his belly, where the ring is looks like they're plucked.. I really want to get that ring removed...

I have tried with a pair of toe pliers, but they certainly couldn't cut it - the reason I did that was that I thought the ring was plastic...

Max is always biting the ring, but of course cannot remove it either..

You should take him to the vet, they can determine if he is allergic to it. If it is reaaly bugging him then they can take it off. You should never try to take it off yourself.

Vet is really the best option, but be prepared to argue that he is indeed your bird, otherwise they may think you have taken someone elses and want to remove the only proof he has - the ring

My vet took the ring off. Did not even charge me for this.
