Hi guys! I would like to know if it is okay to give your parrot a shower once a week? Or how often do you guys shower your birds?

Thanks!

Once a week is a minimum, more if they want it! Amazon tend to be big water lovers, so you may be giving her baths a lot:) My green goose likes to shower daily, with a human and then typically takes a splash bath in his water bowl after lunch.

Oh cool! Is it safe to shower with your bird? I mean waht if shampoo or body wash get on their feather?

Foofanny takes at least one a day and Zekie takes at least 3.

My Amazon showers with me. He sits on his shower perch now, spreads his wings, sings and hogs the water. I stand away from him to use shampoo and soap then take the shower head down to rinse with. He's not happy with that moment so when rinsing is done, he gets the water back. He showers with me 2-3 times a week. He won't shower alone or use his water dish. My ekkie, she bathes about twice a week when she wants to in her water bowl. I've taken her in the shower and she just sits there and won't get under the water. It has to be on her terms, lol.

You can sit her up on top of the shower door or shower curtain rod while using those products so she doesn't get any on her:). You also want to make sure the water is a little less warm than we might like it while they are directly under it. But yes, provided she enjoys it, you can totally shower with Bella. Many bird owners do!
