How long?

Generally how long does it take for a bird to trust a human? My Green cheek doesn't seem to trust me at all. I take him out of the cage and he even sits on my shoulder no problem. Is he going to trust me eventually or is there absolutely no hope. He's only 6 months old. Im thinking about getting a bird expert in here to see what he can do.

The fact that you're able to get him out of his cage = sign of trust.
The fact that he sits on your shoulder = sign of trust.

So what exactly do you mean by trust?

I don't understand what's wrong. It sounds like he trusts you, otherwise you wouldn't be able to handle him.

I too am confused on the trust part and would like to hear more about that before I comment.
Also did you only get him recently, or have you had him from a baby? If you only got him recently, was it from a pet store/breeder, or from another home?
