Eclectus Male - Oscar
We're getting a eclectus and we want to know how do they like the water temp to be when you give them a bath. :) :green2:

Hello, and congrats on your new bird :) I find it depends on the weather! On a hot day, Audrey likes a cool bath (Not fridge cold though, just tap water or room temperature) In winter, warm baths are great. :)

My girl takes showers with me and she likes it nice and hot. Obviously not too hot but so far ive never had it up too hot for her and its been pretty warm for me too...;)

IMO in Australia i don't think they need the water warm at all. Parrots have a higher body temperature than we do & can cope very well. However if you really feel they need the chill taken off then tepid would be ideal.

My eclectus like nothing better than being outdoors & getting a good drench from the hose. I then let them drip dry in the sun. I introduce the youngsters to the hose at about 12 weeks old.

I take mine in the shower with me and I like my showers pretty hot, he seems to love it! I don't think you can go to wrong with the temp....obviously your not going to put them under boiling hot water haha, you'll do fine, just take em in the shower with u, it makes mine chatter up a storm when he's in there n it's funny to listen to ;)

Cold water is best... hot water can dry out the skin... heck, some birds love ice water!

Ideally though, whatever the bird is comfortable with! I wouldn't suggest hot water though since you don't want the bird to get too warm.
