Tango & Toni - Lovebirds
So I just picked up my first lovebird today, and my first parrot for a couple years now. I spent the week getting a cage (18"x30"x54"), and getting it all setup.

Anyways this is Tango, he's(suspected male, not 100% sure) seven months old and needed a new home cause he didn't get along with the other parrot in the house. He's a pretty inquisitive little guy and has been all over the place checking out every inch of the cage since I put him in lol

Does it look OK? Anything I've forgotten or should remove(I still need to pick up a UV light and make a corner perch)?

I've put up a piece of plywood between his cage and the dogs kennels since I took the picture too.

The cage looks great! Good size, lots of perches and fun things to do. I would suggest removing the dowel perches and replacing them with natural branches, and maybe adding a couple more toys, but other than that, looks like a great home for little Tango!

The cage looks brilliant. I agree with what has already been said regarding the toys and dowel perches. Mine were used temporarily, till they were replaced with something better. I decided to keep one, it could come in handy for stepping up. Also, please be careful having a rope perch IN their cage - they can be hazardous.
P.s. your bird is beautful!!

They’re only hazardous if the bird chews on them and there are loose threads. The bird can then ingest them or the nails, if not properly trimmed, can get caught in the fibers. My birds don’t chew on their rope perches, but I check them daily anyway. You can leave them as long as your lovebird doesn’t chew on them.

Her face lol! She's like "Um... what do I do with all this stuff"

That cage looks great for her side. Agree that you should keep an eye on the rope perches but if she doesn't show any interest she'll be OK.

Now be careful when you find bird shop websites, they seem very good at sucking the money out of your wallet.... (Jeez where did that $200 go?!)

Cage looks great. I would also watch the cozy tent. Sometimes it results in hormonal nesting instincts. Also, people on this site have said the birds ingest the fuzzy material the tent is made out of and that can cause health problems. I bought a tent for my Moustache Parakeet but removed it after reading the posts on this site.

There are a few natural perches in there, they're just hard to see cause of the lighting! I left the dowels in because im going to split the cage, theyll be great for supporting a piece of choroplast or eggcrate. I'm taking in another lovebird that needs a home this week, she'll go in AFTER quarantine ;)

I only bought the little tent thing because I was told he loved them, and he's been sleeping in it so far. If/when it gets destroyed I probably wont replace it, but I wanted him to have something familiar. Are manila perches as bad as the cotton ones?

I made all the toys in the cage, so I'm pretty good at not spending tons of money haha

He's a fantastic little bird, I wasn't going to bother him for a few days but he wanted out so bad!! I'm so in love lol

Tango is adorable and his cage looks awesome!

looks like a spoiled little birdy!

I personally would remove the hut just out of safety concerns but aside from that it looks like a great set up

I'm so jealous! The cage is awesome. You should do some tutorials on how you made the toys. I also recently got a Lovebird. The breeder wasn't sure how old exactly but came up with between 4 and 7 months. After seeing Tango's bright peach face, I doubt mine is 7 months yet. She still has a bit of color to fill in. And getting out of her cage is the last thing she wants to do. You are extremely luck to get such a tame bird. Or I'm just unlucky. Please wish me more luck with the taming process!!

Very nice. Where did you get the circle rope perch? I use a hut also, just check it every day and cut out any loose threads and put more toys in, they love them x
