Can anyone recommend a bug catcher? The thing was on my ceiling..I first thought it was a moth..to my horror it was a huge waterbug! It survived my vacuum hose..wouldnt suck it up! I pointed it right at its face several times and it even climbed down the hose toward me!!! I'm devastated! My brave IRN couldn't care less, lol..she didn't budge!

Those are normal where I live in South Central Texas! When I first moved here it taught me everything is bigger in Texas! Like roaches they're resistant to everything except bird toxic sprays. The safest around pets are something similar to these. I put them in locations that CAG, cats and dogs have zero access. Being tablets easy to use, no dust etc.

You must live in the South! Those things are known for grabbing the hose and trying to suck you up! Slam it with something heavy or get a sticky mouse trap or roach motel and try to catch it.

LOL..No, I'm in NYC! I don't know where this guy came from but thank goodness he's a male and is not carrying eggs! Googled and found that only the males fly!

Try the sticky traps. Non toxic.
The roaches in NYC must be getting BIG!
lol I guess so!...but as for me, I do not have a roach problem..I'm very clean and so are my neighbors! It's the humid weather we've been having here. Cant wait for summer to be over.

A lot of very clean people get roaches. They come in on packages and other things and eat anything. Not just "filth". I had them in Boston when I was in college.

yeah.. I read that they'll even chew on your clothing and eat dust particles?!

Yup! And book bindings. The best way I found to get rid of them it not exterminators and their toxic chemicals. I took lots of boric acid powder and brushed it into all the cracks and within days they all die. The boric acid clings to them and apparently draws the moisture out of them.

Our building has an exterminator regularly but I will never have them in my apt.! I heard of using boric acid. i trust he baking soda with sugar potion will work too 🙏I was wondering about one of those handheld thingamajigs on Amazon..if they're any good.

Ugh... Roaches and Bedbugs are my bane! And Mice....... oh god... the last place I was at had a terrible mouse problem

Boric acid is comparatively safe. I don't like boric acid as a powder. It's particles are fine and becomes airborne easily. This can cause problems long term. Roaches are opportunistic. They or eggs can come in as stated in mailed material. We're in a buy online phase. That could be how a Southern type roach got to NYC. Cleanliness can hinder but not prevent. Dinosaurs are extinct. Roaches were thriving before them and are still thriving!

I have no trouble imaging bedbugs! Never had them. Don't want them. I became neurotic that way when a kid. Great gran said good night...don't let the bed bugs bite. On family farm, sibs, cousins, friends and I went to sleep outside. We became chigger mealtime. Nothing could convince me otherwise! I had never heard of chiggers!
