As you know, I've lost a fair amount of blood and I have had several nasty bruises due to Percy disliking me soooo intensely.
Well, following the advice here, we've made so much progress that today, for the first time, I just got soft, gentle beaking instead of 'I want to rip your hand off' bites!! And it wasn't a fluke because he did it again and again and even again after his afternoon nap! He does get a bit carried away and starts nipping harder but then I can easily remove his beak gently and when I say 'softly, baby!" he let go.
He held my fingers in the gentlest of bites. He slided an open beak up and down my hand, and tasted me all the while with his little tongue making chirpy noises. He even stuck his beak in between the knuckles of my closed hand. It was so rewarding not tto get bitten, I almost cried at how gentle he was being.
I'm so happy that my patience is paying off and so proud of my boy that he's beginning to realise and accept that not all women are stick-brandishing witches.
