when
ok little story please no preaching at me as i do realize the mistake i made
and it won't happen again.
i got a call from the wife yesterday she had a problem at work i needed to help her iron out quickly.
Lily was out of her cage, mind went blank grabbed coat and keys and out the door Lily out and a dog she seems to like and want to get close to but i have not the trust in the dog to allow it as the dog has gotten very jealous of the birds. well i was gone about an hour and not even thought about Lily being out.
when i open the front door here she was on the curtain rod right above Max's cage. she loudly make's the boop noise we do back and forth and here she is landing right on the top of my head. lol was really a cool feeling to see her respond like this, our bond has grown very strong when she is out if i look like im going to even get up and go to the bathroom here she is on my shoulder, she loves riding my shoulder while im feeding, she goes nuts if im doing anything in the kitchen without her and when i make chop which i pull the playstand into the kitchen and Max helps me doing the testing while im chopping.lol

she is a wonderful parrot and would say these Lilac Crowns are really tender creatures so mellow.
she was a quick with little thought buy that has worked out. now i have been with her for a bit now i do understand
folks like Sailboat and others here love for the Amazons

Nothing like that moment that you come to understand that you are now owned by an Amazon! And, LCA's make it just so much more comforting!

Regardless of what efforts and checks that one puts in place, as Humans, we react and also just forget from time to time! No one here that has any length of time with Parrots can honestly say that they never have (you add the word(s) here). Its the repeating the error that becomes concerning.

"Its the repeating the error that becomes concerning."

No kidding! How about that time Parker somehow got a hold of an Excedrin tablet?

Or that time we forgot to properly secure Parker’s cage, left for work, come home 10 hours later to find him on his play stand in another room.

Yeah, none of us are exempt from mistakes.

Came home once, Bumble chirped her usual greeting. I replied and didn’t look at her cage. Next thing I know she’s on my head. I know I put her in her cage when I left; I don’t know whether I forgot to close it or she managed to open it, but there she was.
