finley... You look a little more like a Hahns Macaw there!

What happen if foolish human try to steal apple?

What a cutie indeed:D

I've tried this, but clark usually drops it after a bit to go for the bigger apple in my hand....so we just share the apple, a bite at a time.

I can hear the ghost of rio scrabbling at the screen trying to get at that apple

Beautiful photo showing "Look what I got" but don't touch :)

LOL, Arika does something similar.
She will have food in one claw, munching on it, leans into the food bowl and grabs another piece of food.
So now she is standing on one foot, one foot is holding food, and her beak is occupied with food. I guess she forgets she already had food in her other foot.
Eventually she drops the food from her one foot and starts working on the food in her beak.
Repeat until food bowl is empty and half of food is on the floor :)

Adorable!
Time for a nail trim, though!

HA! yes, it is. I hate doing it though that's why I let them get so bad.

have you got a little concrete perch for them? I had one on the door to the cage so I know it would be used whenever going in and out of the cage and it did seem to keep nails trim. Could be an idea

should look similar to this. Though depending on how often they go on it would of course greatly effect how well it works (hence why I had it as the perch for leaving/entering the cage) At the same time, nothing wrong with them going to the vet every now and then for a little manicure!

That style is smooth on top and bottom so it does not make the pads of their feet sore, yet is rough where the nails make contact. I believe this is the best type as opposed to having the perch rough all the way around.

Wait ...wait wait wait....wait! Wait...your Nanday is also named Finley?!?

Lol awww well there aren't that many Nanday around here that I have seen lately so that makes sense. Cheddar is too cute though!

Yea I have two blue ones just like that! Well, I don't think they are flat on top though. They have a LOT of perching material types and I know they use the concrete ones but his nails are just SO LONG. I think it's time I suck it up and trim them. they are like raptor claws.

Oh and his name is cheddar, I noticed you said finley lol I figured it was a case of mistaken identity. are there just 2 nandays on here? If cheddar is any clue to the general personality of nandays, they must all be the sweetest birds alive. He's so sweet it's annoying sometimes lol. Love him to death though minus his occasional "PICK ME UP" shrieks.
