So today I decided to go and get my nails done for a friend's upcoming wedding. Came home and let the birds out and all three of my Conyers about had a fit over my nails. They wouldn't let me touch them and I had to literally pick them up out of their cage to come out.

I've washed my hands multiple times to get rid of any acetone smell but all they do is look at my nails and won't come any closer. My normally sweet Jenday who is normally my shadow wouldn't step up.

I don't think they like the dark Royal Blue Polish LOL

@Flboy

ROFL!! That's perfect!

Bad human, bad bad human. Didn't you know that rule 17b states that humans must not change their appearance or smell. I changed my hair color once and my dog FLIPPED! And birds are so perceptive!

My lady has not worn nail ornamentation since before we met. Since she got the BIRD. I can only enjoy her long red nails via photos from the early '80's. :49:

out of curiosity , has anyone tried to see if it was color related or simply a physical appearance change? Some animals are cued to see specific colors as threatening, some just don't like change. My dog will probably lose his mind when I cut my hair, my lizard wont care as long as I don't dye it blue.

Interesting idea, Der!!!!
That would make a fascinating set of experiments...
"The Effects of Color on Aggression in _____ Species"!

I have to submit any request in writing. Skittles usually tears it to shreds, so I digress. lol.

He is VERY set in his ways. If I so much as move something around in the apt, he will pitch a fit as if saying "Hey, I didn't say you could put that there! Put it back!"
