here lately. I notice that when I take Tiki into my TV room for a little one on one time, Macky will come down off of his playstand and walk through the house. He will get to the door of my TV room and just stand outside tapping on the bottom of the door with his beak and saying "Helloooooo, Hellooooooooo, Hello Mac, Hey Buddy". It's like he's getting very demanding and wants his special time instead of Tiki.

I don't have multiple birds and haven't had any jealousy issues. However, Nalani does fly off the perch when I don't give her attention (ie: I'm watching TV, reading a book, etc.). What I found that helps is foraging toys on the perch. I place some of her favorite treats, currently it's banana chips and freeze dried apples. This keeps her busy for a good amount of time.

You can also play with Tiki and give him one on one time in the same room that Macky is in. Every few minutes give attention to Macky so that he knows he isn't forgotten, and vice versa when you give attention to Macky. hehe this is just a theory, but maybe it'll work.

Good luck!!

Mike...I know you don't need any advise here, but, are sharing a great story. "Helloooo..." I can just picture it! I love how they love us. And how we spoil them rotten. Thanks for the smile.

Yeah, I have tried that on occassion. I would interact with Macky while Tiki is in the same room and then go over and interact with Tiki, which is fine as long as I don't try and pick her up. If I do, she will viciously attack my hand. Now Macky on the other hand will not viciously attack, he will just scury up my arm and refuse to come off and if I try to remove him, he will reach down and pinch my hand until it bleeds all the while saying "OUCH".

Unfortunately, I have invested hundreds of dollars on foraging toys, shreadable toys and just toys in general, but Macky refuses to play with any of them for any length of time if at all. I seem to be Macky's favorite toy to play with. I'm retired and home with them all day so it's like a never ending trip to Disney World:D

Awwwwwww Mac just loves his daddy so much, what else can I say

I'm new to having multiple birds (I have a female cockatiel and just recently got a male SI). I didn't want the cockatiel to feel like she got pushed to the side so I make sure both of them get one-on-one time every day. In the beginning they did get jealous. The cockatiel showed her jealousy by hanging off the edge of her cage, whistling, with a really eager look on her face like "What yall doin over there? Are you talking about me? What's going on hunh? hunh? HUNH?" lol. The SI would make all sorts of noises, or do the eclectus begging/ raindance thingy.

I find that they are less jealous when they are sleepy, so I always put one to bed earlier (covering the cage), and take the other one into a different room. Then in the morning, the one that got put to bed early, gets taken out early (while the other is still sleepy or in early morning preening mode) and taken into another room. It's seemed to work out well so far.

That's a great idea!
