Well before it happens, I know I'll get the cold beak after giving Nigel a shower.

No negotiations, Nigel gets a good soaking at least twice a week, good for him and his feathers and us. But the flip side is he literally turns his back on me for a few hours afterward.

Get thee to the dungeon, HRH King Nigel won't have thee in his presence.

He then makes sure to throw all his food everywhere. He's barely 6 months old, where will this lead? :-)

If you apply the same thinking as if you are dealing with a very young Human Child, answers come to the surface more quickly.

But, you have to be amused by the thinking he is applying to the event and his 'punishment' of you. :D

The reality is that regardless of which ever baby, both begin to smell and have other problems when they do not get a regular bath. Some love baths from the first moment and the other grow into enjoying them with time. And, some will just require more time than others.

This will be one of those moments that you will look back on and smile! Especially when you consider all of the growing-up joys of children, which still sit before you.

If you need a quick reality check, just ask your mother what you were like. Warning, Mothers Love to Remind their Kids what they were like as young children, so take-care opening this door. My mother would remind me of when I was going to run away from home: She helped me pack a little bag of cloths and some food and we were headed for the door when I froze at the door. It never helps when mom remembers those little stories when your kids are around.

the closest i can get Gracie a bath is the water bottle and that's difficult

I know I'm in trouble when Perjo steps up to my hand and as I move my hand through the cage door to remove her she latches her beak onto the door or above the door, that means she wants to play on the cage and not bother with me.

Perjo has come around to enjoy outdoor baths.

After a bath she will give me key whistle calls to reinforce her mood and I think she's conveying thanks.

Ah Nigel gets his bath no questions asked or allowed bless him! He just has an attitude that I can't help but laugh at. Another grey I fostered learned to enjoy it. Nigel is so young I have hope he will enjoy it more and more.

I'm also in trouble when the the wrong string bean is in his dish. He likes the sugar snaps better than string beans. I get the stink eye for that too. Ha!

My peace offering....his Sunday popcorn treat on overdrive...popcorn drunk maybe? Ha. The Sunday treat got me forgiveness....

I know I'm in trouble when Nigel throws his GREEN BEANS on the floor, one of his favorite foods! Okay so I ran around a lot today but he still was out for a number of hours. But HRH wasn't having it and fussed all evening. After summarily throwing green beans he bounced all over the carpet vocalizing his discontent.

I love that crazy bird. :-)

Robin just sits there like a stone statue for some time. Completely unresponsive. Like he's that traumatized, even after having baths for 20+ years that I've had him for! I admit he doesn't get one as often as he should because he has such a strong aversion to it.

After Nigel's rant, he was happy to murmur while I gave him a good head scratch. Forgiven!
