I got a few from Wendy but wanted to see if any others had some recipes.
I need some good birdie bread recipes.
Nutriberry recipes
Chop
Cooked
Etc
I am hoping to get enough replies to start a section just for Kali, in my cookbook.

Hmm! I'm interested in hearing the responses, I also love having a cooking repertoire for Avery and now Shiko! I just bought a food processor, and I'm in love with it! :D Makes making mash much, much easier on me. All that fine chopping was rather difficult, haha.

I know April has made a lot of really cool recipes for Kiwi, so hopefully she chimes in soon with some of her great recipes (like Parrot Pizza !)

Okay, I made up a recipe for nutriberry type snack.

1cup of pellets (ground semi-fine)
1/4 cup organic oats
Dried kale (4 leaves)
Chopped dried fruit (choose your own quantity)
2 tsp of palm oil
2 tsp of egg white
Either 2 tblsp of almond butter or pureed cooked sweet potato.
Quinoa

Mix all the ingredients together (except quinoa)
Rolled the mix Into balls and then roll the balls in quinoa to coat the outside.
Bake at 225 for 45 minutes.

I'm curious what others think of this recipe and if its as good for parrots as I think it will be.

Btw the balls broke apart pretty easily so instead of balls I rolled them into sticks.

For one of the birdie breads I make I use:
Red lentil flour
quinoa flour
pure carrot juice for moisture
The following items chopped:
carrots
broccoli
cauliflour
red, orange, yellow and green bell peppers
snap peas

2 - 3 eggs
a little bird seed & pellets
cooked quinoa

I think that's it, but I change up the veggies depending on what I have.
I put it in glass pans, layering it thinly as that makes it crunchier which my guys like
I bake at 350 for an hour - and hour and a half.

Thanks Wendy,
You have great recipe ideas. I will make some for Kali (IF I EVER GET HER HOME!!!)
She appeared to be weaning and the breeder was expecting her to come home this week.... she reverted back to wanting the syringe more.
She will come when she is ready but it sucks when I get so excited and then things change. My poor heart lol.
