Okay guys, I need some input! I haven't been on in a while! I hope everyone is doing well :) Indy is almost a year and a half now and she is doing great! She's healthy as can be, loving, and of course, loud like all happy suns are lol. I had a cinnamon GCC named Maui before her that my husband and I were absolutely in love with and we still miss her. I've had my eye out for the possibility of getting another GCC and it just so happens that Maui's parents had another clutch recently and I met one of the babies last weekend that made me have that same feeling as when I met Maui for the first time. This baby is a cinnamon also but with pineapple and lots of red...such a gorgeous baby! I let Indy meet the 2-3 month old baby and she was very sweet and groomed her gently while the baby was buried in my hair the entire time I was at the shop (and hour and a half). I need some advice on what to expect with a multiple bird home. They will not be housed together, and I will get the baby DNA sexed. I want Indy to have someone to talk to and to be on her level with her. She seemed so happy hanging out with the baby and I loved seeing that side of her. I very much want to be prepared and I already have a zoo (Wheaten terrier, 40 gallon reef tank, Panther chamelon and Indy the sun conure). Any helpful input would be appreciated!

Hi good to see you again :). Most of my birdkeeping life, my birds have not been friends. Now though, I have Raven and Griffin who absolutely love each other. I can tell you it's SO much easier in a lot of ways when they get along. They babysit each other. If Indy already shows a friendly interest in the baby, I'd say go for it!

It's good to see you too! It's been a while for sure. Yea I'm trying to make the best decision here for all of us. I am going to go to the shop saturday and have indy interact with the baby some more and see how it feels. She seemed to love her last week, so we'll see how it goes. The baby won't be ready to come home for a while so we have some time :) I definitely dont want to rush into it! I also over think things a lot lol

Let us know how it goes, and if you decide to do it!

I'd say it's very promising if Indy is already showing acceptance of the baby. As long as you are prepared just in case they don't get along with time/schedule I'd say go for it. My BFA can't be out with my SC...but they do talk back and forth and mimic each other when they are in their cages. I just have to watch when it is Sassy's turn to be out because if she goes to Cisco's cage she acts very aggressive towards him! I would love a little GCC, especially a cinnamon, but my flock is full (I have to keep convincing myself of that...)

Take some pictures of the baby when you visit!!! :)

Indy tested, Husband approved! It's a go on operation new baby!! I'm so excited!!! Indy groomed the baby over and over again and I made them share a shoulder together and they did great :)) My husband also seems pretty happy with the decision, he's already wanting to name the baby :) We are pretty sure it's a girl since the pelvis is so wide, but I will DNA test later. I never thought I would ever get a second one and I feel really good about this. I will post pics once I figure out how to get them off my phone! LOL:orange::green2:

Yay!! :) I'm glad it all worked out! So did you take her home yet? Can't wait to see!

She's still weaning, we are estimating she'll be ready in about a month or so :) Until then, Indy and I will be visiting on Saturdays! I have a friends that's giving me a large cage and I already have a small cage for the baby stage so I'm set! I'll just need to start setting the baby cage up and we'll be ready! So excited :)

here are a few pics of her hopefully if I did this right lol She was born Jan. 10th
