I bought him all these toys for his playstand so he wouldn't feel bored/want to be on me constantly and he ignores them and just stares at me waiting to be picked up or tries to destroy the food bowls... lol what gives? I know he plays with the toys in his cage because I've seen him do it.

Give it time.

Inside the cage, he's confined so he looks for other things to occupy his time.

Outside the cage, there's so much more going on... I can play with those things later.

This is more interact with people/environment time.

As he gets used to that, he may play with those toys more. Give it time.

Yeah that's true, he's been with me just over a week and has had the new stand for a few days :) I don't mind, I just don't want him to be bored.. but I think he finds watching me and the dog entertaining in itself.

edit: I should note that he is never confined in his cage unless it's sleep time.. he always has the free reign of his cage and the rest of the bathroom, which includes his playstand, when I am asleep. When I wake up I bring the stand out and it's time to play and hang out :) But he still prefers to be on his cage.. I've never found him on the stand yet, but I have found him on the floor a couple times. He has a ladder down to the floor and a couple foot toys down there.

I stuffed his favorite foraging toy and he isn't even eating the food, just pulling it out and throwing it on the floor.. lol at least it entertains him

It always takes Bodhi a few days to get use to a new toy.

I try to introduce them once at a time. If not, he acts scared of them.

My JoJo never learned how to play, so he is very slow at picking up on any toys.

His cage had one toy, a rope and his bowl when I got him so it's possible he's just not sure what to do with them!

He is probably just overwhelmed. When I got Cosmo, it took him a couple weeks till he started to play with a toy. And that was when I wasn't looking. :) Now he plays with most of his toys and you'll learn what kinds are his favorite. Once he has a favorite toy, look out! :)

Bandit doesn't really play with things outside of his cage. If I put some toys on top of his cage he'll throw them off and then just go exploring lol.

So far he loves anything he can shred... lol

Kyo would rather play with my pens when I'm trying to do schoolwork than play with the toys I offer her out of her cage. She's just too preoccupied with trying to get my attention when she's out to play on her own :3
